How to Stay Safe
When I grow up
I will wear my apprehension like a bullet-proof vest,
You will shoot me three times, the last at close range, and
I will not die, I will only fall, breathless.
When I grow up,
I will teach my daughter to always hold fear,
Like a lover, at your waist,
Dutiful.
And I will wear my anger like a glove,
I will touch everything you own, and
I will not leave fingerprints.
